A collection of Notes for 2022

A Note from Taylor
For years, I would buy a new devotional and my goal would always be to follow it all year long. I never achieved the goal, until 2020.

In 2020, I read an entire devotional with my aunt and great aunt + an independent devotional that had belonged to my grandma.

In 2021, I am finishing up an entire devotional with a great friend + an independent devotional that I had picked up after my success in 2020 + an additional Advent devotional.

What changed?

  • Accountability - I loved knowing I had loved ones reading along with me. The ability to send a quick message or have a conversation about what we were reading was so powerful.

  • Reason - The personal need has been so important - 2020, it was the comfort of reading the same words a loved one had read. - 2021, it was the desire to read more words directly from the Bible, this devotional was filled with verses based on topics + wanting to learn more about the Advent season.

  • Perfection - If I missed a day or two, I didn’t stop. It was a sign to me that I needed to carve out a little extra time to get caught up.

In whatever you do, find outside accountability and find your reason for the task. Don’t expect perfection, expect to make a realization. Then, you will succeed!

so true! Accountability is often the motivation we need to make so many things happen! Thank you for writing this!
